The Appointments Commission is the only organisation in England dedicated to public appointments, recruiting and selecting the best possible people to non-executive roles in all areas of public life.
Responsible to ministers for appointing Chairs and non-executives (to Strategic Health Authorities, Primary Care Trusts, NHS trusts and the Department of Health’s arms length bodies), the Commission also provide non-executive recruitment services for Foundation Trusts and to the boards of public bodies across central government.
There are a range of public roles available. The Commission is committed to finding and appointing the best possible people for public appointments, and is well aware that a whole range of public services benefit enormously from the unique talents and perspectives brought by the non-executive community.
The Commission is excited to be working with people who have talents as wide and varied as the range of public services on which everyone relies. People who want to contribute to public life do so because they care about their community, because they want to give something back or because they see the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the public sector. Whatever the motivation, it is an invaluable contribution to public life.
The Appointments Commission understands that diverse boards make better decisions, benefiting from the perspective, insight, skills and experience of people from across the all sections of the community.
